Before we get into the details of the ExtremeCraft resource pack, we want to point out that if you want a resource pack that completely fixes Minecraft's visuals, this isn't a real resource pack. This pack only focuses on the game's items, visuals, and some animations, so you won't notice any major changes actually. However, its changes definitely look a lot better, which is why we recommend giving it a shot.
It's important to note that the ExtremeCraft resource pack came out less than a week ago, so it's still in an experimental stage, but right now, it's in a very developed state that you may find works great. The game contains some incredibly detailed features. items that look very realistic in the game and even provide textures for special items like guns, throwing knives, etc. The big highlight of this pack is definitely the mobs, as this pack makes Minecraft's mobs look menacing rather than their usual cartoony counterparts, and it's darkened in color while adding more detail.
The resolution of the ExtremeCraft resource pack is x256, this resolution is probably the main reason for the detail in the textures. One would often assume that a bunch of x256 solutions would be difficult to run on low-end PCs, but that doesn't seem to be the case, as the pack doesn't alter the textures of the in-game environments and those textures are often system resource-heavy textures.
