While it may not be the most popular resource pack, if it's still sitting on a thousand downloads, Cubix is a very high quality resource pack. Minecraft's defining characteristic is that it has an extremely wide variety of art styles, and the goal of most resource packs is to change this art style to make the world look more realistic. However, Cubix takes a completely different approach. Rather than turning the blocky art style into a more realistic one, this resource pack forces Minecraft on, and surprisingly, it can lead to some pretty spectacular visual effects.
One thing we really like about the Cubix resource pack is that its textures are some of the cleanest we've seen. The level of detail in the textures is not very high, but they are absolutely noise-free and for this reason they look very smooth. Beyond that, the Cubix resource pack has a bright and vibrant color palette that helps take things to a completely different level.
It's important to remember that even though this pack has been out a lot, it's still a work in progress, so several textures are missing from it. Cubix resource packs have been built at x16 resolution, which is great for players with low-end PCs as the lower resolution doesn't harm the hardware and results in high frame rates.
