What is kappa-shader?
kappa-shader is a Minecraft shading pack designed to achieve an authentic look. It doesn't use physically accurate values and equations like many other packages.
Instead, it's tuned to reproduce what you can observe in nature while still using a lot of precise calculations, which often involves more than just equations describing most phenomena.
kappa-shader has won unanimous praise from players since its official launch. There are more than a dozen different updated versions from 1.0 to 4.2, and each version will have new content updates.
The latest version is kappa-shader 4.2 version updated in March 2022.
kappa-shader 4.2 update log
Added "Blossom Bloom" which changes bloom intensity based on the amount of fog visible in that area of the screen, which may result in more atmospheric visuals

Slightly adjusted dynamic fog density
Reduced overall fog meter scattering to make fog look less gray and hazy
Clouds now respect planet/atmosphere curvature
Overhaul of atmospheric horizon and planet surface visuals to produce a more reasonable and realistic view Clouds feel more "embedded" in the atmosphere in the horizon area Planet surfaces are now loosely approximated to fill in areas below the horizon that would otherwise be dark
