If you ever liked fighting battles in a massive arena suited up as robots, you would love the new Mecha Break. The third-person sci-fi combat game draws inspiration from popular franchises like Armored Core and Gundam with game modes including PvP, PvE, and extraction shooter. In this Mecha Break tier list, I've ranked the characters from best to worst based on early gameplay and usability.
After playing the multiplayer for a while, you'll understand that the character that works best for you depends on your playstyle. You can choose from the roles of mainly attacker, supporter, and defender. Having said that, some Strikers outshine others thanks to their powerful attack moves, agility, and ease of use. Therefore, you can follow this list as a reference to determine what heroes to try out first.
Tier | Striker |
---|---|
S | Pinaka, Alysnes, Tricera |
A | Falcon, Skyraider, Stego, Aquila, Hurricane, Welkin |
B | Narukami, Panther |
C | Luminae |
In the S-Tier, I've picked the top Strikers from different classes so that most playstyles are covered. These perform great in multiplayer battles and can be upgraded for an even better result.
Striker | Description |
---|---|
Pinaka | If you're looking for a support robot with strong healing capabilities, look no further than Pinaka. The use case with its wide range of weaponry is truly remarkable, making it a must-have hero in the team. You can use drones and repair kit to heal up multiple friendlies simultaneously while they are battling. It can also defend you well with a rapid-fire plasma splitter. Furthermore, you can use Pinaka's emergency support drone to drop a temporary cover that blocks projectiles and heals you as well. |
Alysnes | Alysnes is a no brainer for those who want a jack-of-all-trades Striker with good attack prowess, mobility, and strong armor. It's an attacker with a burst-fire laser gun, a close-quarters combat focused sword, and explosives shooting cannons. You can use Alysnes' shield to block enemy projectiles to some extent and call in an airdrop to replenish your armor and weaponry. |
Tricera | This heavy defender can easily lockdown a capture point and fend off multiple enemies single-handedly. While the Gatling Guns and Howitzer artillery burn through the enemy's armor and HP, its deployable Fortress can defend against most ranged attacks. Tricera also has a neat support ability thanks to the drone that can repair nearby allies. |
A-Tier characters are very close in effectiveness to the previous selection and will easily win your matches. However, the S-Tier outperforms these slightly due to better firepower and defense capabilities.
Striker | Description |
---|---|
Falcon | Falcon is one of the most nimble Strikers that excels in tagging enemies and then evading quickly. This light attacker can be used to start fights and finish off enemies weakened by teammates. Its cannon and missiles aren't as powerful as other robots, but if you can maneuver Falcon well, you'll be fine with the limited firepower. Moreover, its recon device can scan and lock on enemies through objects, and can even reveal a Narukami who has gone invisible. |
Skyraider | Yet another attacker that makes it amongst the best Strikers in Mecha Break. Skyraider's energy cannon and missiles are hands down the most powerful weapons in the game, hence it's a strong contender for S Tier. However, I think Alysnes is a more well-rounded attacker. The Missile Dispenser is lackluster, but the Aerial Assault Mode that transforms you into an attack jet is pretty useful if you want to cover some ground quickly. |
Stego | While the attackers we've talked about until now are nimble, Stego relies more on its firepower than mobility. The Rocket Pod is lethal and just as powerful as the overpowered energy rifles. Use its Haze Diffuser to cloak allies and disrupt the enemy's locking mechanism. Stego can also transform into a stationary tank form with a shield deployed in front and improved locking range on enemies. |
Aquila | If you're looking to get picks and defend your team from afar, go for the sniper robot Aquila. The energy rifle is a formidable weapon that deals significant damage while your defense shield can protect you from long-range attacks. You can even immobilize your target with the Claw Drones and use the Aerial kit for fast travel. |
Hurricane | Hurricane is a heavy defender and a force to be reckoned with just like Tricera, but treads behind due to a lack of powerful weaponry. The Energy Blaster is only good for cracking shields, while the Turret Drones deal okay damage. The energy-beam releasing Splitter, however, is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. Hurricane can also defend itself quite well with the decoy shield and a large force shield deployer, but try to stick with allies to boost survivability. |
Welkin | Welkin is a hybrid Striker that can act as an attacker and even a defender thanks to the cube shield it can deploy. Its weaponry includes a powerful missile launcher, a lethal battle axe, and a mediocre energy disc emitter. The Jamming Generator is also a useful tool to disable enemy support drones, such as Narukami's decoy drone. |
This tier consists of good Strikers in Mecha Break, i.e., useful enough to be picked every once in a while but not quite as great as the last two tiers.
Striker | Description |
---|---|
Narukami | Narukami is a light sniper with great stealth and mobility, however, its weapons cannot perform as well as the beam rifles on other Strikers. Although it's not the top choice robot, it's one of my favorites for a stealthy play and engaging enemies from afar. While Narukami's camo drone can turn you and nearby allies temporarily invisible, the decoy drone produces a fake clone to confuse opponents. |
Panther | A brawler with two powerful melee tools: Lance and Shield Blade. While both of these deal good damage to the enemy's HP, they are useless at longer ranges and are outperformed by beam rifles. Panther has good defense thanks to the Complex and Reinforced Shields. Moreover, you get a Shield Booster Kit that improves the cooldown of your defenses. |
Finally, I've placed the Strikers that feel weak compared to their counterparts in the game's current state. They need a buff or rebalancing to compete with the other robots in PvP modes.
Striker | Description |
---|---|
Luminae | Luminae has potential to be a good Striker with a rework, but there is no solid reason to choose it over the mighty Pinaka. This support robot can heal allies and even boost their mobility excellently, however, it lacks firepower. Luminae's Corruption Module does turn all her healing equipment into weaponry that can be used against the enemy, but it still doesn't solve the problem of a lacking primary weapon. |
Keep in mind that this tier list is based on my conclusion of the gameplay and community threads. The rankings are subjective and what stands as an A-Tier operator for me may be higher or lower priority for you. Therefore, don't just adhere to this list and use various Strikers to figure out the best one for you.
